Gayle Forman works as a journalist, writing articles for youth publications.

In 2002, she and her husband Nick went on a world tour in which she gathered experiences and information that would later form the basis of her first book, a travel magazine, You Can't Get There From Here: A Year On The Fringes Of A Small World. In 2007, she published her first youth novel, Sisters in Sanity, based on an article she wrote for Seventeen.

"Just one day" - a book about the humble girls in my life that the meeting took place that changed his destiny. This work also reflects the author's own emotions that she experienced while traveling in 2002.

In 2009, Forman released If I Stay, a book about a 17-year-old girl named Mia, who suffered a catastrophic car accident and was in a coma fully aware of what's going on around her. Forman won the NAIBA Book of the Year Award in 2009 and was the 2010 Indian Book of the Year Award winner for the book. The adaptation of If I Stay, starring Chloë Grace Moretz, was released in the United States on August 22, 2014. A sequel to the book, titled Where She Went, was released in 2011. From Adam's point of view, the novel tells about Adam and Mia's relationship a few years after the accident.

In January 2013, Forman released Just One Day. The novel is about Allyson Healey, who, on the last day of his European tour after graduation, meets a Dutch tramp actor named Willem. In an unusual, unexpected decision, Allyson travels to Paris with Willem, where they spend a day together before he disappears. The book's sequel, Just One Year, was released in October 2013. It follows the same chronological sequence as Allyson's story, but is told from Willem's perspective. The final part of Allyson and Willem's story, Just One Night, is a 50-page novel that was released as an ebook on May 29, 2014.

Just One Day is about Mia - a young and talented cellist. Family music is not the end. But the girl is not like her parents. They are dynamic, sociable, modern people who love rock music. And they have a lot of surprises when Mia has declared her desire to become a cellist. However, his daughter's choice was approved.

Mia collected dust from classical music under the bed. This is a long time she's not telling her boyfriend Adam. After all, modern girls do not listen to Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.

Memories fly the girl in the head at a time when she is on the verge of death. She thought of her parents, brother, Adam, best friend, Kim. The heroine of Gayle Forman's novel has just begun to live. She spent her first love, enthusiastically participated in music, and spent a lot of time with her girlfriend.

Memories of happy life contrasted with that of a hospital. Thinking of passing with reflections on life and death. This technique makes the Forman Roman exhibition particularly pathetic. The author thus shows the life of ordinary people, who can hardly realize how happy they are. To appreciate what you have, you lose everything.

Most of Mia's thoughts lost Adam. She was only seventeen, but she was truly in love. However, at some point, the music lesson evolved into something more serious, and she began to think about how to study abroad in New York. This means that Adam will have to go. Everyone must experience life on his own. Perhaps the way Mia and Adam dispersed. Seventeen years - awkward age for love.
