Quotes by Wendy Anne Gibbins-Lekkou

"When she was living one of her fantasies she felt like a bird, the freedom of its wings letting her soar without earthly boundaries, enabling her to look on to her vividly imagined scenes from a great height."

  • Description: I am Wendy Gibbins, born in Hull, which is in the North of England. I have been married and living in Greece for quite some time. At the age of 11, I left home to study dance full time. It was a great experience.
Since then, I have had a fulfilling career as a dancer.
I then ventured into choreography, I have worked on projects for theatre and TV, including “Greek Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.” I have choreographed for many Greek Pop Stars and worked on numerous advertising campaigns. My career allows me to create expression and narratives through dance.
I started writing as a new method of drawing pictures for people to see and to reinforce messages created using dance.
During my professional life I have always needed to find ways to evolve and mutate, essentially doing the same thing, telling stories, transmitting emotions and expressing the pictures in my mind using a different medium.
I find people extremely interesting, their reactions to situations and the way they relate to other people fascinate me, these factors tell us more about them than is possible to discover by simply conversing with them. I always try to understand the reasons behind people's actions and reactions. Do we ever really know what motivates a person? I don't think so, but endeavouring to find out is certainly an interesting pastime. Writing allows me great licence to experiment with different character types in specific situations reacting to their circumstances and permits me to speculate what their choices will be. What could be more interesting?
